Spain will hand over to FIFA within a few hours the list of host cities of our country for the 2030 World Cup. The final act, which has also been signed by the CSD on behalf of the Government, leaves out the city of Murcia (PP) and in the air those of Valencia (PP) and Vigo (PSOE)although the latter two could enter a final play-off if they resolve the political and economic differences between institutions. Another of the Spanish cities that will be left without hosting World Cup matches is Gijón (Asturias Forum), which resigned after the disagreements between Sporting and the City Council.

The 101 matches of the 2030 World Cup will be played in 11 Spanish cities, six in Morocco, three in Portugal and three in South America: Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Asunción. These last three will each organize a group stage match in commemoration of the first World Cup, which was held in 1930. The rest of the matches will be on behalf of the Iberian Bid and the final, in all probability, will be at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium… if Spain continues in the project.

The World Cup will be the first to be held on three continents, although Spain will be the country with the greatest prominence if FIFA confirms its candidacy. It should be like this, but the request for disqualification of Pedro Rocha by the TAD has generated a file for government interference that will be studied in Zurich in the coming days and that could end with the expulsion of Spain from the Iberian Candidacy for the benefit of France.
