Do AirPods still work after so many years?
The answer to this question will depend largely on the use we give it. Using them every day to go to work or school will not be the same as just listening to music at home from time to time, or simply making calls with them. So we should talk about days or hours of use, although it is a data that Apple does not offer us, so we will have to make an imaginary average.
I, personally, have used them quite a bit, but I would say that within the normal range, I don’t think I have been a user who has squeezed them, nor left them in a drawer for days, so my experience could be taken as a reference.
As I said, I would have purchased the first of the generations, the AirPods 1, so I assume that the following ones will have even better features and quality, so they would even last longer and better.
These, after more than 1,000 days of use, continue to work perfectly, and the battery in the box is great, however, I cannot say the same about the headphones themselves, since their duration, at the moment, is very short, and It barely reaches 1 hour, so, we could say, they are ready to retire.
Their degradation has been quite slow, and until these last few months, they worked without problem, perhaps not 6 hours, but 3 or 4, enough to make a trip, save them for 5 minutes, and for them to last the same again, however, Now, it’s not the same, and if I want to watch a series, they can’t last even one episode.
Therefore, answering the initial questions. Yes, I would buy AirPods again, as long as I got a good deal, since I think they are worth their 120 euros, as I paid for them, however, going for 200 or more could already be questionable. And no, they are not still alive, although they are useful for making calls, or listening to some audio in noisy environments. However, I could no longer wear them for hours like I did in the beginning, so they need a change.
Today we can find the second generation for about 110 euros or lessso it is not a bad option to consider, and they may be substitutes for mine.
In short, like every Apple product, these AirPods are worth it, and although they are not eternal, they hold up to a lot of use, so they would get a mark from me. And you, do you have some?
