The Digital Game Design degree at the Andrés Bello University (UNAB) will have a prominent participation in Expo Game in Concepción, where it will present 30 monitors as collaborators of the official event and one of its graduates at the national level will be showing his game «PartySaur: “Dino Mayhem.”

What would happen if we put all the dinosaurs together and made them compete against each other? That is the question that Gonzalo Sepúlveda, a graduate of Digital Game Design from the Andrés Bello University, asked himself when he created “Partysaur.” The video game that transforms the theropods from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods into rivals will be one of the attractions of the Expo Game that this year takes place on May 3, 4 and 5 at SurActivo.

Sepúlveda will also participate with his talk “From UNAB to Steam” on Saturday. “The game was initially my degree project for university, where I wanted to show all the elements that I learned thanks to the degree. Once I graduated, I managed to raise a fund to finance the production of PartySaur and together with my sister we formed DireGrin Studio, where with the support of other graduates of the program, we are now a year away from launching our game, which currently has a demo version in the Steam application,” he says.

During Expo Game, attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to see footage of “Partysaur,” and witness firsthand the creativity and technical prowess behind the creation of this competition between the extinct giants. “PartySaur: Dino Mayhem is a casual action game for 1 – 4 players in local multiplayer where participants compete in a wide variety of mini-games. Beat your teammates and be the PartySaur champion.”

Thirty instructors from the Digital Game Design study program at the Concepción headquarters will also be at the event, which each year brings together more than 15,000 people interested in this discipline. This is highlighted by the race director, Pablo Ortúzar, for whom being present at this event shows the strength that the discipline has in the Region.

“We are very proud to have achieved this collaboration with ExpoGame, which opens a direct door for us to present what our career has been teaching for more than 10 years, and which from 2024 will already be present in greater Concepción. We welcome the interest that our career has had, as part of the arrival of the Creative Campus at the UNAB headquarters. At this moment we are looking for alliances with public and private entities, knowing the reality of the creative industries in the area. From now on we invite anyone interested in our career to talk or visit us at the headquarters to see how they can transform their passion into an academic and professional career.”

Expo Game, the country’s main video game fair, which on this occasion and to celebrate its 10 years, has among its guests the voice of the Star Wars villains: Darth Maul and Snoke
