What does Earth look like from space? All astronomy enthusiasts ask ourselves this question at some point in our lives. Thanks to technology there are now options to contemplate our planet, from the perspective of the multiple satellites in the world’s orbit, or from the International Space Station (ISS) of the POT.

NASA’s spacecraft, which is also used by other agencies such as the THAT (European Space Agency), JAXA (Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency), Roscosmos (Russia) and private agencies, such as SpaceX, perform a total of 16 orbits of the Earth in one day. In total, he manages to travel around the world 5,840 times in one year.

This allows the same ship to record impressive natural landscapes of our planet. We recently told you how the Torres del Paine, in Chilean Patagonia, were captured from NASA’s ISS. But what we are going to show you in this review is an impressive image of what the thousands of kilometers of the Pacific Ocean look likethrough a shadow of clouds that combine with the faint light of the Sun.

SpaceRock shares this great image of the Pacific Ocean and reports that it was taken from NASA’s laboratory in space.

See Earth from space 24 hours a day

The POTtogether with the administration of the International Space Station (ISS), developed an app that shows a video of the Earth from space, thanks to a camera installed on the outskirts of the orbital laboratory.

The application is called ISS Live Now: Earth live and can be downloaded from any cell phone or tablet, through the Google Play Store. It’s simply impressive. In addition to showing you a unique view of the Earth, it also gives you a snapshot of where it is passing so you can identify the region of the world where the ISS transits.

In the same description of the Google Play Store app they report that they recently added video downloading and the ISS Tour, which runs with Google Street View.

It is a live video signal that is active 24 hours a day. Sometimes it loses signal and they warn you on the screen. It may also happen that you only see part of the ship and everything is dark. That means the ISS has flipped over and the camera is pointing into deep space.
