One UI 6.1 stood out for its Galaxy AI, which permeates every aspect of the system, from tasks as simple as typing text to more complex image editing functions. This capability is rumored to be expanded with “video AI” in One UI 6.1.1. However, details of the next major release are not yet known.

What we do know is that Samsung is already testing One UI 7.0. An internal test version was discovered by Tarun Vatswith build versions S928BXXU2BXE2/S928BOXM2BXE2/S928BXXU2BXD4.

The code S928 corresponds to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the “B” indicates that it is a European version of the device. All Ultra models incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, including the European ones. This does not affect the software update schedule, as all S24 models follow the same schedule.

Older Galaxy devices should also be updated to One UI 7.0/Android 15. Originally, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series was scheduled to receive three OS updates, concluding with Android 14. However, Samsung extended this to four updates, which means this could be the oldest generation of Galaxy to receive One UI 7.0. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 will also receive the update, although they are a few months newer.

The new major version is likely to debut with the Galaxy S25 series early next year, and then reach older models. In the meantime, we hope the leaks give us more clues about what version 7.0 will include.
