After the new iPads were the first device from the Cupertino company to have M4 processors, many were wondering about the update of the Mac Pro and Studio. But unfortunately, the news is not encouraging for those who were hoping for a new model soon.
Mac Studio and Pro with Apple M4 processor, only for 2025
As we can see on Bloomberg, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro will not be updated to Apple’s M4 chip until the middle of next year in 2025. This means that both computers will continue with Apple’s M2 chip this year.
This would be the norm this year, since the only renewal expected with an M4 processor in 2024 will be that of the portable Macbook line. This means that the MacBook Air and probably the MacBook Pro will be updated with the new chip this year.
This isn’t the first time a Mac has skipped a generation. If we remember correctly, the iMac went from the M1 to the M3 processor at the time. Therefore, this generation leap is to be expected for Apple’s product line.
In this way, we will surely have to wait for confirmation, but at least today, the Mac Pro and Studio will not have an update to the new Apple chip.
