With all the changes that WhatsApp is generating in its app since the beta on different occasions over the last few days, now one arrives to be able to comply your obligations with the Digital Markets Law: entering the user’s age. It is due to a modification in its rules that forces users to share this data, and always with privacy.

In fact, a small window appears in which you are encouraged to confirm that you are 15 years old or older (although the minimum age differs in Spain). And WhatsApp warns you: this information cannot be modified later, so you have to make sure you enter the date of birth correctly.
And the most important thing about this update: the year of birth will not be shared with other users or visible somehow. In fact, WhatsApp will only use it for this case and with the aim of following what was agreed through the Digital Markets Law in the European Union, and in the United States, with some states that are forcing some requirements as is the case with Texas.
The age now for using WhatsApp has been changed from 16 to 13 years old. An age that does not include the screenshot from WaBetaInfo, but that it would be updated here in Spain like the rest of European countries. Therefore, entering the exact date is very important, since not doing so could lead to the loss of the WhatsApp account without being able to use the app.
