It will come with several payment packages that will unlock content, such as chapters of a campaign, something that many players have not finished liking.

I’ve been keeping track of Stormgate for a while, the RTS of a good handful of former Blizzard employees. Responsible (they were not the only ones, of course) for the legendary StarCraft II, as well as Warcraft III, they decided to found their own studio to produce a new real-time strategy game… and it’s already around the corner. After a long wait, but not before blowing up their Kickstarter campaign, Stormgate has confirmed the release date of its early access version.

Thus, from August 13, 2024Steam players will be able to try the early access one of the most anticipated RTS by the community. Furthermore, it will be free to playso you will not have to pay to play, although it will have advantages for those who purchase any of its payment packages.

Stormgate reveals its release date

That said, when its release date was announced during the PC Gaming Show, it left no one indifferent, since the reminiscences of Blizzard’s science fiction and tactics title are more than evident. Of course, there are quite notable differences, but the similarities between the two are clear. The best of all is that you can see that they have gone further, because it looks incredible.

The curious thing is that Stormgate wants to follow in the footsteps of quite a few triple A players by adding an incentive to those who pre-order the game before its official launch. In this way, those who purchase the strategy title before August 13 will be able to access it even sooner. More specifically, the door will be opened in advance to those who reserve the game, and it will be the July 30, 2024. That is, a couple of weeks before its official staging.

Having clarified this, and without forgetting that it will be completely free for all those who do not want to check out, it will have three reservation levels. Quoting directly from Cosmocover and its official press release, we know that they will be the following:

  • The Early Access package (€24.99) includes the Vanguard hero Amara, the first chapter of the Vanguard campaign, and the Vanguard Gold Army Accent.
  • The Deluxe Early Access Package (€39.99) includes everything in the Early Access package plus the Maloc hero of the Infernal Host, the Auralanna hero of the Celestial Army, and a pet chicken.
  • The Ultimate Early Access Bundle (€59.99) includes everything in the Deluxe Early Access package plus chapters 2 and 3 of the Vanguard campaign (available after August 13) and the Firestorm Fog of War Shader.

Therefore, you can choose if you prefer not to spend money, if you want to “support” them with one of their paid packages and acquire additional content or go for the full version, which will include different chapters of the Vanguard campaign, this being exclusive to the aforementioned packs.
