A recent study has given the warning signal for the millions of users who download Free VPNs on Android. As it states that almost 90 percent suffer data leaks, more than two-thirds share their personal data with third parties and almost a fifth were flagged as suspicious malware by scanners antivirus.

This was discovered by Top10VPN, which claimed that almost all popular free VPNs through the Google Play store are dangerous.

Top10VPN analyzed the source codes and network traffic of the 100 most popular free VPNs for Android on the Google Play Store. In his exhaustive study, Simon Migliano, head of research at Top10VPN, spent months researching and collecting data on the security and privacy flaws of these apps.

“The 100 most popular free VPNs for Android had around 260 million total installs in 2018. Today, that number exceeds 2.5 billion.” And according to their latest study, almost all of these users are putting their privacy and security at risk by using these apps without knowing it.
