These are Lava, Polar Lights and Desert, and this is how they can be purchased

Instagram teasers featuring the planet Earth, not the Moon, had led people to speculate that the next iterations of the series would move from the Speedmaster to the Seamaster, James Bond’s favorite watch.

Some even went so far as to make some animated models.

Now we know that is not the case.

The new models are, in effect, MoonSwatches. Three new watches, called Mission On Earth – Lava, Mission On Earth – Polar Lights and Mission On Earth – Desert, pay tribute to the beauty of our planet, says Swatch.

To keep with the space theme, Swatch states:

Throughout history, people have wondered what the world looks like from above. All astronauts who have traveled to space have said that the most beautiful landscape they have ever seen was the Blue Planet. “The first time I looked at Earth, standing on the moon, I cried,” said astronaut Alan Shepard, who in 1961 became the first American to go to space and, in 1971, the fifth man to set foot on Earth. Moon.

The new watches come in three new colors, reflecting their names.

Mission On Earth – Lava is also a nod to Omega’s 1968 Speedmaster Moonwatch ‘Ultraman’ model, with its orange chronograph hand.

Mission On Earth – Polar Lights pays tribute to the Northern Lights. Its blue dial is dotted with small “stars” of silver scales, inspired by aventurine crystal spheres. It’s another nod to certain Omega watches. The arrangement of the “stars” is different in each model, making each watch unique. The numbers and indices of the three subdials use the radial format, just like Omega’s Speedmaster Alaska II and III.

Finally, Mission On Earth – Desert is presented in sand color, “evoking the vast expanses of sand that cover more than a fifth of the Earth’s surface.”

All three watches carry their own mission statement on the case back and OMEGA X SWATCH logos on the dial and crown. A design of the Earth can be seen on each lid of the battery.

The new Omega MoonSwatch Mission on Earth watches will be available starting this Saturday, June 15 in selected Swatch stores.
