Samsung Galaxy S25: No battery upgrade on the cards for next flagship

So far, most of the leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S25 have focused more on the Plus and Ultra variants. There have been conflicting rumors about the camera improvements. Meanwhile, the vanilla Galaxy S25 is slated to get new camera sensors and a larger 6.36-inch display (up from 6.2 inches on the Galaxy S24). Unfortunately, this is not complemented by a corresponding increase in battery capacity.

Galaxyclub.nl has learned from its sources that the Samsung Galaxy S25 will use the 4,000 mAh cell of its predecessor. It’s also the first time in three generations that an entry-level Galaxy S smartphone hasn’t received an increase in battery capacity. This also puts an end to rumors about the Galaxy S25 series getting “EV Style”, as these are usually accompanied by an increase in energy density.

Furthermore, Samsung has no plans to increase the memory capacity in either of the two variants of the Galaxy S25. The stagnant battery capacity could be problematic as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has been rumored to be quite power hungry. On the other hand, the Exynos 2500 could emerge unscathed as it is said to be more energy efficient than its Qualcomm counterpart.
