Powkiddy V10 to be launched soon as similar to Anbernic RG280V with performance improvements

In recent weeks, Anbernic has dominated when it comes to revealing new retro gaming handheld devices. Specifically, the company has launched the RG28XX, RG35XX SP and RG Cube since the end of April. Instead, Powkiddy has only introduced the RGB20SX (currently $102.99 on Amazon), a 1:1 option that it markets as powerful enough to emulate Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation 1 games thanks to its Rockchip RK3566 chipset.

However, it has now announced the V10, which looks a lot like the RG280V that Anberic launched in late 2020. As expected, the V10 is significantly more powerful than the RG280V that Anbernic equipped with the Ingenic JZ4700, a 40nm chipset and based on MIPS. That said, Powkiddy has equipped the V10 with the RK3226, a quad-core chipset with ARM Cortex-A35 CPU cores and a Mali-G31 GPU.

Furthermore, Powkiddy has equipped the V10 with 1 GB of DDR3L RAM, a 3,000 mAh battery and a 3.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. Additionally, although the device will lack built-in storage, it does feature a microSD card slot that can hold cards up to 256GB in capacity. Additionally, the V10 is said to support charging and OTG support via its USB Type-C port, as well as a 3.5mm jack connector. At the moment, Powkiddy has not confirmed how much the V10 will cost, much less its availability. Instead, it says it will announce an “affordable” price soon.
