Huawei officially presents HarmonyOS NEXT

Today, Huawei held a new edition of HDC, the company’s developer conference, and HarmonyOS NEXT has been officially revealed. This is the new version of the company’s system, and it seeks to get rid of Android completely.

HarmonyOS NEXT is official

As the operating system is made from scratch, Huawei claims that the new system architecture offers a 30% improvement in overall machine performance and a 20% reduction in power consumption. Currently in beta testing, HarmonyOS NEXT is looking for developers and a limited number of early adopters (3,000) to participate.

One of the main features of HarmonyOS NEXT is its ability to bridge different devices. According to Huawei, developers only need to create one version of an app to ensure a consistent user experience across different screen sizes in the Huawei ecosystem.

HarmonyOS NEXT also has a unique “Application Continuation” feature. The system also allows for effortless data sharing between devices. For example, you can easily cut and paste an image from your phone to your tablet while working on a document.

The manufacturer will gradually provide this new system to compatible devices and will launch a stable version of HarmonyOS NEXT in the fourth quarter of 2024.
