A high-end smartphone with attractive design and outstanding performance

The Honor Magic6 Pro was launched in Chile last April, but it already has some recognition abroad, ranking eighth in AnTuTu’s “Top 10 Android phones with the best performance worldwide.”

This mention reflects the results of several tests that measure different parameters, such as battery wear tests, mobile stress, HTML5, LCD, gray scale, color bars and multi-touch, among other evaluations of the device, as well as the analysis of your operating system.

Honor’s flagship smartphone also has some recognition at technology summits such as DXOMark and has attracted attention for integrating the latest improvements in artificial intelligence (AI).

That’s why we tested the high-end phone, which makes it attractive to users looking for good performance and good technology without spending so much.

The brand has already managed to position itself as a solid option in the smartphone market, with an attractive design, high-quality finishes, premium materials and modern aesthetics, in addition to an advanced camera system that includes multiple lenses and artificial intelligence capabilities to improve photography and video

In addition, it stands out for its good screen, great sound quality, impressive autonomy and, above all, for many it is the best processor on the market, which puts it among the best high-end phones of 2024 so far.

Screen

The 6.78-inch OLED screen has a 1280 x 2800 resolution, which is equivalent to Full HD+, and has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

As for brightness, its great attribute is that it achieves up to 5000 nits, although it occurs in some special conditions. The specific thing is that in daily use it reaches around 1600 nits, a figure similar to the rest of its direct high-end competition, more than enough for daily use and in full sunlight.

In addition, its Circadian Night Display technology filters blue light to improve sleep quality.

Design

Honor continues to rely on an attractive circle of cameras on the back, with a matte glass finish that resists fingerprints and an IP68 certification, which means they can be submerged to a depth of 1.5 m for up to one hour.

The aluminum sides have an elegant finish, with a premium phone aesthetic. However, it can be somewhat slippery and the glass is strong but not unbreakable, so it is recommended to use a protective case.

Camera

With three cameras available: the main one is 50 MP, a 180 MP telephoto lens with 2.5x periscopic zoom and a 50 MP ultra wide angle camera.

The main camera is a significant leap over the previous generation, as it has excellent sharpness, details and very defined edges. Of course, in bright conditions it can overexpose some areas of the image, which can be easily corrected.

The digital zoom of up to 100x is interesting, although it is useful in very specific conditions for a detailed finish and is not very practical for everyday use.

Being such a high resolution sensor, there is no problem when we go beyond 2.5x. This 5x shot is much sharper than some I’ve tested on 5x optical zoom rivals.

It also has very good quality in indoor photographs and with artificial light, as well as in night mode, since it recovers a little more light than there really is.

Regarding the portrait mode, there is a good sharpness result, although it may tend to saturate the colors somewhat, depending on the available light.

As for the video recording, they are of good quality, but it is not the most outstanding. Although it achieves 4K at 60 FPS, LOG format and the possibility of pre-recording with some filters, the stabilizer can be somewhat fluid.

Technology

Equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 12GB of RAM, the Magic6 Pro offers fast and efficient performance. Its fluidity and power helps make application opening times and transitions fast.

In terms of biometrics, this phone is one of the few Android phones with 3D facial recognition. In addition, it has a fingerprint reader with optimized operation.

But without a doubt, one of the strong points of this phone is its large 5600mAh battery and the charging capabilities of 80W wired and 66W wireless, which ensures that the phone can easily last a day and a half with intensive use. As if that were not enough, its consumption at rest does not even consume 1%,
