The Japanese video game company launched the original title, Luigi’s Mansion 2, for Nintendo 3DS in March 2013, the second installment of the saga of the brother of the most famous plumber in the world, who takes the role of hero and aspires to all the ghosts that he finds in his path. Now, eleven years later, Nintendo has made available to players the remastered edition of the video game for the Nintendo Switch console, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, a visually enhanced adventure in which exploration, humor, some scares and supernatural actions predominate. This was announced by Nintendo at a press event held in Madrid this Thursday, in which the film director Santiago Segura, the children’s literature writer Ledicia Costas, the neuroscientist David del Rosario and the content creator also participated. Salva Fernández, who have discussed their experiences with Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and have agreed that, as the game addresses, negative emotions, such as fear, are also necessary. This is where Luigi comes into action, as he has to once again help his friend and mad scientist, Professor Fresor, to restore order to Shadow Valley and get rid of the evil, yet fun, ghosts. . In this adventure, users will play Mario’s brother who, as usual, shows his fear of ghosts and haunted mansions. However, it will be the players who must gather courage and explore all the scenarios to find the fragments of the Dark Moon, rebuild it and stop the entities. To achieve this, Luigi has the help of the powerful Succionaentes 5000 tool, with which he can suck up and hunt down all the creatures that roam the mansions and that will appear with different sizes, shapes, colors and abilities. For example, Atrotons, red entities, send shock waves that cause damage to players. Likewise, the blue ghosts, called Furtifinos, take advantage of the furniture in the rooms to throw it at Luigi, while the yellow Slime leaves viscous puddles in their wake that can make the protagonist continually slip. The well-known Boos ghosts are also part of the creatures that inhabit Shadow Valley, although the difficult part will be discovering where these elusive entities are. In addition to the Succionaentes 5000, created by Professor Fresor himself, Luigi will also have the ‘strobe bulb’, which will help stun the specters to facilitate their hunting. Another fundamental element that players must obtain in order to achieve their goals will be the ‘de-darkizer’. ‘, with which they can reveal hidden ghosts and invisible objects. All of this will take place in different settings, specifically, five mysterious and haunted mansions that must be investigated to find the Dark Moon fragments. One of them is Villa Tenebrosa, set in an old house full of armor, dusty books and walls with cobwebs. Luigi must also investigate the Enchanted Towers, an environment with scenes full of vegetation that grows out of control. Following this line, the adventure will also take place in the old Watch Factory and in the Secret Mine, which will have a snow-covered stage. Finally, Nintendo keeps the last mysterious mansion, where the entire story is resolved, a secret. This adventure can also be enjoyed with up to four friends in the Tower of Challenges, a haunted building full of ghosts where you can play in multiplayer mode to complete other challenges that are not available in Luigi’s main adventure.
