Committed to democratizing access to AI and its benefits, Samsung developed the Live Translate feature to break down language barriers in communication. The tool, powered by Galaxy AI – South Korean artificial intelligence – allows the user to translate calls with audio and subtitles bilaterally in real time, that is, during the conversation and for both interlocutors. The tool is available on Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 series devices.
Communication becomes more accessible for everyone with Live Translate. There are situations, for example, where something needs to be coordinated in a country where the user does not understand the language being spoken. With Live Translate it is possible to resolve what is needed quickly and easily, avoiding misunderstandings. The user with Galaxy AI will be able to speak in their native language and the interlocutor will hear it in the other language.
Activating the function is also very simple. When accessing your Galaxy device’s phone, tap the three dots in the upper right corner, go to “Settings”, select “Live Translate” and activate the function with the button in the upper right corner. It is also possible to configure the languages you are going to use.
To use the feature simply make the call or answer normally. You can then access the “Call Assistant” and then select “Live Translate”. After this, whoever is on the other side of the line will be informed that the call will be translated, starting the call with simultaneous audio and text translation.
