The latest addition to the Motorola ecosystem combines Google’s precision tracking technology and privacy guarantees for a new tracking solution.

Motorola introduces moto tag, designed to track consumers’ most valuable items anywhere in the world via Bluetooth. Stylish, secure, easy to use and compatible with most Android smartphones, moto tag harnesses the power of the Google Find My Device network and UWB technology to offer consumers a new tracking solution that seamlessly integrates into the Motorola device ecosystem.

From keys and wallets to luggage, moto tag gives users the ability to find the location of their tagged items for added peace of mind. moto tag is specifically designed to work seamlessly with the broad reach of Google’s Find My Device network, allowing users to pinpoint the exact location of tagged items via the Find My Device app from nearly anywhere in the world. When paired with a compatible Ultra Wideband Android smartphone, such as the motorola edge 50 ultra, moto tag also offers enhanced tracking accuracy. moto tag can also be used to help find a lost smartphone by ringing the connected device with the press of a dedicated button on the moto tag.

Privacy is paramount with moto tag, which is why it works with the Find My Device network, which is secure by default and private by design. A user’s location data is end-to-end encrypted, meaning only the tag’s owner or anyone who has shared it with the Find My Device app can see its location. Building on Google’s expertise in privacy and security, moto tag also supports automatic alerts from unknown trackers on Android and iOS to help keep users safe from unwanted tracking. Users also have the option to run a manual scan at any time to check if any unwanted tags are following them.

Moto Tag also features a dedicated multi-function button. A single press of it will make the user’s smartphone ring, helping them to easily find a misplaced device. Another useful feature is the ability to use the Tag as a remote control to capture photos with a Motorola phone, making it easy to take pictures without having to hold the phone or use a timer. This feature is compatible with any Android phone and is especially useful when taking photos with the new Motorola razr family in flex view.

“Find My Device is a truly unique experience for Android users thanks to our open ecosystem that gives people the freedom of choice and a network of over a billion devices to help find their lost or misplaced items and devices without matter where they are”said Erik Kay, vice president of engineering at Google. “We’re proud to work with partners to help make finding your belongings simple and seamless on Android.”

For seamless setup, once the new moto tag is turned on and near the user’s smartphone, it’s easy to quickly pair with the device using Google Fast Pair. From there, users can take advantage of several customizable options available in the moto tag app, such as changing tag names, adjusting alert volume, checking battery life, and much more.

The moto tag’s sleek silhouette has been specifically designed to fit seamlessly with most third-party accessories already on the market, so users can easily attach it to all their valuables. Plus, its rugged IP67 design helps ensure durability against dust, dirt, and immersion in fresh water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes, making it suitable for any adventure or daily commute. Users can also rest easy knowing that the moto tag’s CR2032 battery is designed to last an entire year on a single charge and is easily replaceable, making it a reliable and long-lasting tracking solution.

The moto tag will be available in the coming months in certain markets. For more information on local availability, contact your local public relations representative.
