Chennai: Gold bars worth 75 lakh were found dumped inside a restroom at Chennai airport on Thursday night. Central revenue intelligence officials took possession of the 1.2kg consignment after conservancy workers cleaning washrooms spotted the parcel inside a garbage bin. Customs officials said the suspect might have dumped the gold inside the garbage bin after realizing that customs checks had been intensified inside the airport. The gold seizure comes after two successive cocaine hauls at the airport worth 45 crore from two people.
