Letter: Flood damage? FEMA might have money for you. | Letters to Editor

In December and January we experienced a lot of flooding and other storms throughout the area.

If you experienced any damage in any form from any of our recent storms, please contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency! FEMA will evaluate if you are entitled to money to help repair damage.

They may even reimburse work already done.

During Richmond’s April 16 council meeting, our local EMA director expressed the importance of applying and multiple members of the public spoke about how easy this resource is to navigate.

Just call 800-621-3362 or go to www.DisasterAssistance.gov and a representative from FEMA will help you complete an application. FEMA representatives are canvassing the area and may knock on your door. The deadline to apply for damage related to the December and January storms is May 20.

The Richmond Town Council is also expecting a presentation from the Small Business Association. They will review resources they have not only for businesses but residents too. If you would like more information please reach out [email protected] and I will send you information after the presentation.
