Make arrangements to deal with incidents of fire, water shortage: Official in HP’s Hamirpur | Shimla News
HAMIRPUR: The Hamirpur district deputy commissioner in Himachal Pradesh, Amarjit Singh, who also serves as the chairman of the DDMA, chaired a review meeting on Friday evening.

During the meeting, he instructed officials to prepare for potential incidents of fire, water scarcity, drought conditions, water-borne illnesses, and other issues that may arise during the current summer season. Although the weather conditions in Hamirpur are currently normal, Singh stressed the importance of making advance arrangements in case of increased heat and lack of rainfall, as reported by officials on Saturday.

Singh directed officials from various departments, including jal shakti, fire, agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, forest, and health, to make comprehensive arrangements within their respective departments.

“A notification has been issued for making those living near forests accountable for fire incidents in their vicinity. They have also been told to help authorities put off the fires,” Singh stated.

Furthermore, Singh emphasized the need for coordination between the forest and fire departments to prevent forest fire incidents and encouraged the involvement of local residents in these efforts.
