Same age, same charge—2 teens charged with murder, both captured, US Marshalls say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Two teenage boys, both aged 17, wanted for separate murders in 2023 and 2024 were captured by US Marshals within two hours.

The first murder occurred on December 14, 2023. Cornelius Bennett was found shot to death in on Third Street in Memphis.

On January 20, 2024, a juvenile petition for first-degree murder and aggravated robbery was issued for the arrest of the teen involved.

The second crime occurred on February 13, 2024, when Marqulo Mason was robbed and shot to death on Philsar Street in Memphis.

On February 26, a warrant was also issued to the teen for first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault.

On May 2 around 10:30 am, the US Marshals caught the suspected killer of Marqulo Mason at a home on Roberts Road in Memphis.

With the assistance of the Memphis Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, marshals took the suspect into custody without incident.
