The White House bared its teeth on Monday at a Republican governor who suggested that President Joe Biden’s dog be euthanized, days after she revealed that she shot and killed her pet because it was “untamable.”

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Donald Trump’s potential 2024 running mate, said Biden’s dog Commander should meet a similar fate to her pup for biting several Secret Service agents.

“We find his comments yesterday worrying and absurd,” said White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre. “This is a country that loves dogs and you have a leader talking about putting dogs down,” she added.

In his opinion, Noem “should probably stop digging her own grave.”

Noem, 52, shocked Americans by claiming in her memoir that she shot and killed Cricket, just over a year old, because she was “indomitable.”

“I hated that bitch,” he admits. She reproaches him for ruining a pheasant hunt because she was overexcited and blames him for the death of some chickens.

The governor says that if she reaches the White House with Trump in the November elections she will have “Commander greet Cricket.”

“Joe Biden’s dog has attacked 24 Secret Service people. “So how many people does he have to attack and seriously injure before he makes a decision about a dog?” Noem asked on a CBS show on Sunday.

Commander was sent to live with relatives after the two-year-old German shepherd, who arrived at the White House in 2021 as a puppy, had trouble adjusting and bit at least 11 Secret Service agents.

It’s not the only part of Noem’s new book that raised eyebrows. She was forced to retract the claim that she had met with North Korean leader King Jong Un.
