Mohali: A 12-year-old girl, Anannya, lost her life in a road accident on Tuesday at around 8am near Gulistan Palace, Chandigarh-Ambala highway, Zirakpur. Anannya was on her way to school with her mother on an Activa scooter when a truck hit them. The impact was severe and Anannya died on the spot, while her mother sustained minor injuries. She is currently under treatment at a govt hospital in Derabassi. Local police arrived soon after the accident and detained the truck driver, Kali Bhushan, a 23-year-old from Jammu. The truck, which has been seized, was on the way from Baddi to Ambala carrying sand.Bhushan said that he did not notice the Activa due to a turn on the road, which caused the accident. The police have taken Bhushan into custody. Meanwhile, students and teachers of Anannya’s school are in shock over her untimely departure from her.
