Mexico SkyAlert has issued a statement warning of possible interruptions in its service seismic warning due to a national electrical emergency situation. The National Energy Control Center (CENACE) has declared an operational state of emergency in the National Interconnected System, which has caused interruptions in the electrical supply that affect several SkyAlert seismic stations. The impacted regions include the coasts of Colima, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, as well as areas in Puebla, State of Mexico and Mexico City.

SkyAlert has reported that, due to this situation, there could be interruptions in the seismic alert service. However, the company has assured that it is using all available resources to maintain the functionality of its REDSkyAlert. To do this, they are implementing backup systems and emergency protocols designed specifically for situations like this.

The organization has stressed the vital importance of its service and is devoting considerable efforts to minimize any adverse effects that these interruptions could have in the ability to respond to a large earthquake. SkyAlert appreciates its users’ understanding and patience as they work hard to ensure service continuity in the face of these challenging circumstances.
