Police were called by the ambulance service just before 9pm on Sunday, May 12, to a report of a stabbing at an address in Tasmania Close.
Officers attended the address and confirmed two men had been stabbed.
Craig Laurie, 33, from Basingstoke, was confirmed dead at the scene.
A second man, aged in his 30s and from Newbury, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

On Thursday, May 16, police charged 63-year-old Kenneth George Walker with Mr Laurie’s murder and the attempted murder of Scott Laurie.
He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 17, where he confirmed his name, address and date of birth.
Walker, of Tasmania Close, was remanded back into custody following the hearing to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Monday, May 20.
On Thursday, police also arrested a third person in connection with the investigation. A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Officers had arrested a 51-year-old woman from Basingstoke on suspicion of murder as part of their investigation. She has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Following his death, Craig Laurie’s family released a tribute to him. They said: “Craig was a dedicated and loving father, uncle, brother and friend.
“He worked hard to support his family and young children. We are shocked and devastated by his loss.
“There are no words to describe how much he will be missed. We now need the time and privacy to grieve together as a family.”
Chief Inspector Scott Johnson, Basingstoke District Commander, previously said: “I would like to thank local residents impacted by the police attendance at this very challenging incident on Sunday evening. I’m grateful for their continued understanding and cooperation as our investigation has continued this week.
