“This week we have begun the expropriation process of part of the land of the former Colonia Dignidad, in Villa Baviera,” said the president during his speech for the Public Account 2024.
“This is a relevant step to consecrate the place as a space of memory and thus, from the south of Chile to Germany, We say with one voice to the world: never again!”he declared.
According to the head of state, this measure materialized thanks to a “collaboration process” with the European country. “For several years now the governments of Chile and Germany “They have been working to convert a former space of horror and death into a place of memory and future,” he said.
