Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez renewed contract with Red Bull for two more years in Formula 1something that his partner celebrated Max Verstappen. The pilots have achieved a good duo, despite the incident of the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix in which the Dutchman refused to support the Mexican to seek the runner-up position. “It is great news that ‘Checo’ has signed with the team until 2026 and I am happy to be able to continue the successful partnership we have created in recent years,” said Verstappen ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix. “We achieved a record season last year and the team is very strong, so we are looking forward to building on this success in the next two years as well,” he added.
Regarding the career in Gilles Villeneuve Circuit, The three-time world champion knows that it will be a complicated weekend like the one they faced in the Monaco Grand Prix. “This week I have been with the team back at the factory and in the simulator preparing for the Canadian Grand Prix.”
“The track there is very unique, it has some old school curbs and there are many more opportunities for overtaking. It is even more important to have a good set-up of the car and find a balance between straight line speeds as well as good stability in braking,” said Verstappen regarding the complications they have recently had in the RB20.
“It’s always good to race in Montreal again; the landscape is unique, the atmosphere in the city is great and the fans are very passionate,” he concluded.
