The town is preparing a special edition for this weekend
Jungle It’s an anniversary. The 25th edition of its famous Ses Herbes Fair. The appointment will be on June 7 and 8, with all the special atmosphere of a fair that already has a long history and that never disappoints. As a small appetizer of the Fira, on Thursday the 6th a facade decoration workshop will be held by Julià Frau in the Plaça Major, to prepare the town for the event.
It will be on Friday the 7th when the activity begins to be very intense. At 7 p.m. it will be Maid of Saig de les Herbes, developed by Selvaescena, accompanied by the Xeremiers of Selva, on the balcony of the Town Hall. At that same time, the exhibition of the students and teachers of the CEIP ES Putxet will be inaugurated in the Rectory. Half an hour later the Ball Show of the Agrupació Aires de Muntanya de Selva, in the Plaça Major. These 25 years of history of the Fira de ses Herbes will be valued at the round table that has been convened at 8:30 p.m. in Ca ses Blaies. The celebration will come later with the Tape Night and the performance of the Selva Municipal Band.
On June 8, Saturday, it will finally be the big day of the Fira de ses Herbes. The activity will begin very early, at 7:30, with the Alborada de los collidors de murta, which will begin in the Plaça Major. At 9 in the morning the staircase of the Església will be decorated and at 12 the Hort de les Rondalles, focused on school gardens. In the afternoon, at 6 p.m., the entrance to the murta and cercavila will take place, at the same time the entrance will open. Fair Marketwith many paradetes of medicinal plants, cosmetics, liqueurs, perfumes, Sant Joan cokes, books, organic products and a thousand and one other things with the herbes as a center. An important event will come later, the beginning of the Distillation process next to Ball de l’Estol de ses Herbes. At 9 pm it is expected that this process will be finished and everything will be ready for the Foc de l’Estol, with all the usual characters and the gegants Rosa and Pau. It will be at 11:00 p.m., and then the Gorimba batucada and the closing of the Fira will arrive. Sunday will still be celebrated Lyricandles, opera by the light of aromatic candles, with sopranos Carmen Pérez and Maia Planas, baritone Pablo López and pianist David Mohedano. It will be in the Plaça Major at 10 pm.
