Miami, June 6 (EFE).- American actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence closed in Miami (USA) with “gratitude and enthusiasm” the intense promotion of their film ‘Bad Boys, Ride or Die’, which is being released this coming Friday and many of whose scenes take place in this city.

“Without Miami we couldn’t have made this movie. In fact, the city is the third ‘Bad Boy.’ With our Latin cast and music and with this vibrant metropolis that is a melting pot, we have a long history and we are grateful and very excited about the premiere,” Smith highlighted.

The actors were honored in a ceremony at the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, a recognition in which the different sports teams of this city and local authorities were present with the mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, at the head .

“We want to thank you for continuing to consider Miami your partners in this adventure, bringing investments and jobs for twenty years,” said the mayor.

With the Bay of Biscay and its row of cruise ships as a backdrop, Smith and Lawrence received the proclamation of ‘Bad Boys Day’, which starting this year will be celebrated every June 7.

They also shook hands with representatives of the Miami Heat (basketball), Dolphins (American football), InterMiami (soccer) and Marlins (baseball), who gave them team shirts with their names.

Smith was moved by the effusive reception the city has given them over the last week. The actors visited the main Spanish-language television channels, were received at the baseball stadium and held a busy ‘premiere’ on Wednesday night, with the presence of artists such as the Dominican Natti Natasha and the Puerto Rican Anuel AA.

“We came here before everyone realized how incredible this city is,” said Smith, and then spoke with humor in a beginner’s Spanish with which he declared himself “Cuban at heart” and “in love with “Miami”.

Likewise, the artist, who also serves as producer, announced that he plans to make a fifth installment. “We are going to keep coming until you put up with the mess we make with traffic,” he confirmed with a laugh.EFE
