Within the framework of his visit to the city, the Governor of Córdoba Martín Llaryora, together with the Mayor Juan Manuel Llamosas, signed two agreements to expand natural gas networks in order to reach a greater number of residents in Las Ferias neighborhood and at the National University of Río Cuarto, with an investment of more than 600 million pesos.

As explained, one of the planned expansions is in Las Ferias, where 1,250 residents of the neighborhood will be able to access the service, covering 80% of the total inhabitants of the sector.

In this area of the city, 6,830 meters of pipe will be installed with a disbursement of more than 400 million pesos.

“Today we have the great joy of telling you that we will invest more than 400 million pesos so that all families in the Las Ferias neighborhood have natural gas in front of their house, as appropriate,” said Llaryora.

In parallel, the Governor announced the commitment for the Province to pay half of the curb that the Municipality of Río Cuarto committed to the residents of this sector of the city.

Subsequently, Llaryora and Llamosas were with the Rector of the UNRC Marisa Rovera where a project was presented to be approved by the house of higher studies so that the Province can finance the expansion of the existing network to reach natural gas at 20 thousand people who make up the university community.

In this case, more than 215 million pesos will be allocated and 3,370 meters of pipe will be laid, with an execution period of 180 calendar days.

“This University is a source of pride for all Cordobans. Therefore, this proposal that we are putting forward is a recognition, in such a difficult time that the university system is experiencing in the face of defunding,” said the Governor.

“I stand in solidarity and commit to working together to guarantee necessary resources,” said the provincial leader.

For his part, Mayor Llamosas highlighted the good results of the coordinated work between the Province and the Municipality and celebrated the important investments that will be made to benefit the residents of Río Cuarto and the region.

“It is a joy to see the fruits of this common work that we are doing; In this way the answers and solutions arrive and are much faster,” said Llamosas.
