“The appointment of the nation’s ombudsman is fundamental,” said the Chubut ombudsman in the Consumer, User and Competition Commission in the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation within the framework of the debate on the basic law.
On Wednesday, the ombudsman, Claudia Bard, shared with the Consumer, User and Competition Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress the complaints of Chubut citizens regarding the increase in gas rates that have been received in the latest invoices.

Faced with this situation, as vice president of the Association of Ombudsmen of the Republic of Argentina (ADPRA), she highlighted the importance of appointing an ombudsman of the nation that allows action in situations like these of “excessive increases that cause people to lose their well-being and quality of life.”
Bard exemplified the impact that increases in gas rates that reach 4000% have on clients such as SMEs and companies that “cannot afford gas bills and are making their operations inoperative.”
