The former candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz, celebrated the decision of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF), who recently ruled that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador did commit “political gender violence” against the representative of the PAN-PRI-PRD.

It was through social networks where the senator congratulated herself for the ruling given by the Court and attacked the authorities for not giving a resolution beforehand.

I celebrate the decision, but I regret the inefficiency and delay by the authorities in not having resolved the matter prior to election day,” he wrote on his official X account.

However, she also expressed her disagreement with the determination, since López Obrador was not reprimanded or punished for the complaint she filed for the way in which the Tabasco politician had expressed himself against her.

For this reason, Xóchitl stated that he will take action on the matter. ““This doesn’t end here.”

It must be remembered that the law prevents sanctioning the President, in this way, only his responsibility will be proven.

According to the TEPJF, AMLO committed gender-based political violence in at least 11 morning conferences, which were broadcast during the months of July and August.

“For the alleged commission of political violence against women based on gender, derived from the demonstrations made by the head of the federal executive in the morning press conferences called ‘morning’ on days three, four, five, seven, July 10, 11, 14 and 17. As well as August three, seven and 18,” stated the electoral authority.

López Obrador used expressions in relation to the fact that a group of men chose the PAN-PRI-PRD candidate, to achieve their “political aspirations” in the electoral contest.

In July 2023, the former standard-bearer of the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition presented a series of complaints against AMLO, because she highlighted gender violence against him, as well as misuse of resources.

According to Gálvez Ruiz, the Tabasco politician displayed it through the official social media accounts of the Government of Mexico and himself, such as derogatory phrases such as “candidate of the oligarchy.”

In addition, she assured that the president questioned “her capacity” because she was a woman.

The Court determined “the existence of infractions due to violation of the principles of impartiality, equity and neutrality of the electoral contest and the improper use of public resources attributed to the President of the Republic, as well as the failure to comply with precautionary measures in preventive protection.” dictated in this regard.”
