Former US president Donald Trump warned this Friday at a rally for his 78th birthday in Florida that “the sickest and most vile criminals in the world” are “infiltrating” through the southern border, which is why he threatened to close that crossing if he takes back the House. Blanca in the November elections.

The Republican candidate celebrated his birthday with a party and campaign event at a convention center near his Florida mansion in Mar-a-Lago, where in front of a crowd he used his usual incendiary rhetoric to once again attack migration, an issue key to the presidential elections.

“For years, I’ve been warning that ‘Corrupt Joe’ is letting the world’s sickest and most vile criminals infiltrate our southern border, and now everyone agrees he was right,” Trump said, referring to his Democratic rival, President Joe Biden.

“They are coming out of prisons and jails, mental institutions and asylums, coming from countries all over the world, not just South America, even Venezuela. (…) Thank you very much Venezuela. We thank you,” she launched.

According to the most recent polls, Americans consider migration one of the main issues to decide their vote in elections in which Biden and Trump will have a rematch after the 2020 elections that the Democrat finally won.

“On the first day of our new administration, we will close the border, stop the invasion, and send Joe Biden’s illegal aliens back home where they belong. We have to kick them out,” Trump threatened this Friday.

Faced with constant questions from Republicans, Biden, 81, has also focused on the issue in recent weeks, in an attempt to attract voters who consider him lukewarm on border security and the entry of undocumented people.

Last week, the president issued an executive order authorizing the closure of the border with Mexico to migrants seeking asylum when there are more than 2,500 irregular crossings over a seven-day average. He plans to reopen when the number drops to 1,500.

The decree includes exceptions such as minors traveling alone, victims of “a serious form of trafficking,” migrants with a visa and those who arrive at a port of entry through a legal route such as the CBP One mobile application.

In addition to enabling the closure of the border, the decree toughens the standards for examining asylum applications and favors accelerated deportations.

Several migrant advocacy groups filed a lawsuit on Wednesday in a Washington district court against the Biden government, considering that this measure “is contrary to the law” and “arbitrary.”

In response, Trump promised on June 6 that, if he regains the White House, he will reverse the order announced by Biden and threatened to impose tariffs on countries that do not stop the flow of migrants trying to reach the United States.

“On the first day of my administration, I will rescind Rascal Joe’s outrageous executive order,” he said then in Phoenix, Arizona, during his first campaign event after being found guilty of 34 felonies for falsifying business records in May in New York.
