The Local Police of Telde, in Gran Canaria, and the company Proactiva, which provides the surveillance and lifeguard service on Melenara beach, will deploy a drone unit over its waters this morning in search of the shark sighted this Saturday before deciding whether They reopen her to the bathroom.

This beach on the east coast of Gran Canaria was closed to swimming this Saturday afternoon after the lifeguards who serve there warned of the presence of a shark.

The notice was received by 1-1-2 around 5:00 p.m. and led to the launch of a search device with jet skis that was unsuccessful.

A spokesperson for the Telde Local Police informed EFE this Sunday that the beach is still closed to bathing and will reopen depending on what the drones that will track it in the coming hours detect in its waters.

Several people recorded and shared images of the shark on social networks as it approached the sand, to the surprise of the bathers. The animal was identified as a hammerhead shark.
