After almost an hour, traffic on the Metropolitan was regularized after one of the buses was stranded due to a breakdown near the Caquetá station, in Rímac. This was confirmed by the Urban Transportation Authority of Lima and Callao (ATU) through its social networks.

Dozens of users showed their annoyance this morning due to the traffic congestion caused by a Metropolitano bus that had broken down in the middle of a public road. This fact generated delays in the service to the stations, in both directions, of approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

“The bus was towed from the road due to mechanical assistance and the service is being gradually restored,” reads the ATU’s ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account.

After the vehicle stopped, some users were forced to get out of the units to be able to take other means of transportation. Meanwhile, the other Metropolitan buses used private transportation lanes in the same direction to move forward.

The ATU personnel arrived at this point to carry out the corresponding repairs to the damaged bus.

METROPOLITAN: EXPRESS HOURS OF SERVICES EXTENDED

Through its social networks, the ATU reported that the hours of express services were extended to meet the demand of users at the Naranjal terminal and at the northern stations.

However, there are still users waiting at the Caquetá station and subsequent stations.
