Nintendo will be holding an event on June 18 at 10:00 a.m. EDT/7:00 a.m. PDT to discuss the games coming to Nintendo Switch in the second half of 2024. You can watch a 40-minute livestream here. YouTube and Twitch channels. It is also posted below.
While this Direct may discuss third-party games, Nintendo only has two titles offering confirmed release dates: Mansion 2 HD, Luigi’s on June 27, and Nintendo World Championship: NES Edition on July 18.
However, about two dozen other games with Switch as a platform are included, from EA Sports FC 25 in September to Sonic X Shadow Generations in October.
What no one mentions is the Nintendo Switch 2, or what is called the console’s successor. The company made this clear in a tweet on Monday.
In fact, the president of Nintendo told investors the same thing that there will be a Nintendo Direct this month, without talking about the console.
The next Nintendo Switch is expected to launch in 2025. This will be the longest the company has gone without new hardware in the five years between the Wii U (2012) and the original Switch in 2017.
