“In the name of my mother I ask you to stop”

What was intended to be a nice gesture towards María Teresa Campos after her death on September 5, has become a controversy that has been addressed on several television sets.

This June 18 would have been the communicator’s 83rd birthday. For this reason, her daughters wanted to attend the mass at the Parish Church of Santa María de Caná, in Pozuelo de Alarcón, as a tribute. One in which it not only focused on the matriarch of the Campos clan, but was also dedicated to other deceased people.

And if there has been controversy with this event, it has been because there have been several people very close to the journalist who have assured that they have not been invited. Among them, Belén Esteban, Kiko Hernández or Gustavo, María Teresa’s driver. After this, the Campos sisters were serious and implacable at the door of the church.

For this reason, it was Carmen Borrego herself who wanted to clarify everything in the program We’ll see. “You said tremendous and it doesn’t seem fair to me because I haven’t talked about it,” he replied to Alessandro Lequio.

Carmen Borrego: “I get fed up that every time we do something for my mother they start to not respect the family”

“Two people who work in the media, the attitude was one of little common sense,” said Antonio Rossi when seeing the way the protagonists of the controversy treated the media. Something that Carmen did not want to overlook: “When you voluntarily go to a mass to remember your mother, you don’t have to have a party or an interview at the door.”

And it was shortly after, when he wanted to address the issue of people who have shown their anger publicly. “It was not a public act, it was private for the family. There are other people who were angry and those have spoken and not us,” she began. “I get fed up that every time we do something for my mother they start to disrespect the family,” she continued.

Although those words were intended for Gustavo, he also made reference to Meli Camacho, a close friend of María Teresa Campos, who did attend the mass. “I know that Meli wrote to you after the mass saying that she had felt offended or upset by the treatment you had given her,” Rossi noted.

“Stop lying, ma’am. Is not true. It’s enough to talk about my mother’s things and then say that about her daughters. And now I’m upset. That’s it, in the name of my mother I ask you to stop. In the name of my mother, I beg you, please, to stop, to respect the memory of my mother who loved you so much and helped you so much. Have you loved it? Prove it,” the communicator’s daughter exploded.
