Billy Bullet will star alongside Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the upcoming Netflix series “Man on Fire,” the streamer announced Thursday.

Bullet, best known for her role in Little Lamp, plays Poe Rayburn, a young woman who is unhappy with her life after her family moves to Brazil. After witnessing a tragic event that changes her perspective on her family and life, she quickly discovers that her only companion is John Creasy (Abdul-Mateen II), according to her official logo.

Based on the book series by AJ Quinnell, Man on Fire centers on Creasy, a “skilled and powerful mercenary known for his ability to survive even in extreme situations.” The book series was also adapted into a 2004 action film starring Denzel Washington, Christopher Walken and Dakota Fanning.

Boullet is expected to play the role of Fanning in the film version, although with a different character name.

The official synopsis for the new series adds: “Determined to overcome her personal demons, [Creasy] take the path of salvation. But before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself on fire and fighting harder than ever. “

Relatively new to the world of acting, Bullet’s credits include playing Anne Frank in Little Light and Fenella Feverfew in The Wicked Witch. She will next star as Willa in the upcoming sci-fi film World-breaker with Luke Evans and Milla Jovovich.

The eight-episode drama series is written, executive produced and executive produced by Kyle Killen (“Halo,” “Awaken” and “Lonely Star”). Abdul-Mateen II also serves as executive producer alongside Steven Caple (“Transformers: The Rise of Skywalker,” “Creed II”), who directed the first two episodes.

Additional EPs include Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann for New Regency Productions; Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Tracy Cook of Chernin Entertainment; Scott Pennington for Chapter Eleven; and RedRum’s Stacey Persky, as well as Ed McDonnell and Michael Pollier.
