As part of the viability of the projects formulated in the eight funds in charge of the Mining-Energy Planning Unit (UPME), The entity announced progress in the universalization of electric energy and natural gas services in Colombia.

“We build the fair energy transition by responding to the needs of the most vulnerable communities in the country, which is why one of the pillars in terms of equity has to do with the projects that we make viable from UPME and that expand the coverage of the communities in electric energy and natural gas,” said Adrián Correa, general director of UPME.

According to the entity’s data, Of the ten projects with a favorable concept, six correspond to electrical energy for a total value of $42,000 million and four to natural gas for $8,000 million, for a total investment of $51,800 million.

Among the scope of the projects made possible by UPME is the standardization of electrical networks, the construction of medium and low voltage networks, the assembly of transformers for rural electrification in villages, as well as the connection and internal installation of the natural gas service. .
