The Last Escape hits the big screen next July 4th and Diamond Films will be in charge of distributing this film that ends the career of Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson.
This film tells the extraordinary true story of Bernard Jordan (Michael Caine), a veteran who made a memorable “great escape” to reunite with his comrades during the 70th anniversary of ‘D-Day’, with the aim of honoring his fallen comrades. In the background of this heroic adventure, he becomes entwined in a true love story with his wife, Rene Jordan (Glenda Jackson).
Michael Caine’s decision to return to acting after two years of retirement was motivated by the opportunity to play Bernie, finding in this inspiring story parallels with his own life. One of them, Caine was 89 years old when he received the script, the same age as Bernie when he made his “great escape.”
