In an operation carried out yesterday at 11:30 in the morning, members of the Eleventh Police Station proceeded to arrest two individuals involved in an act of adulteration of gas cylinders in the Valle Chico Housing Complex. During routine patrols along a communal road near an open field in the eastern sector of the complex, officers discovered two white Toyota Hilux trucks, belonging to a gas distribution company.
Upon getting out of their vehicles, the agents surprised the drivers of the vans, identified as Messrs. Bazán (31) and Mayorga (32), in flagrante delicto, while they were handling a 45 kg gas bottle. In addition, another seventy-five were kidnapped. bottles of different capacities that were transported in vehicles.
According to police reports, the individuals used a methodology to adulterate bottles, transferring contents from full containers to empty ones through the use of a special rubber hose. This illegal procedure not only violated established safety regulations, but also represented a serious risk to the lives of those involved and third parties.
Both suspects were arrested and later transferred to the corresponding Section, where they were at the disposal of the Southern District Investigative Prosecutor’s Office. At the same time, the person in charge of the affected company was urged to file the corresponding criminal complaint in Judicial Unit No. 9.
