Blood Incantation will release the album “Absolute Elsewhere”, composed of two songs

The band considers it their “most incredible sonic journey”

The American Death Metal band BLOOD INCANTATION has announced the release of the album “Absolute Elsewhere” for October 4, 2024 via Century Media Records.

This album will be composed of two songs of more than 20 minutes each: “The Stargate” and “The Message.”

Prog from the 70s in the key of Death Metal

In the words of the band:

“‘Absolute Elsewhere’ is our most incredible sonic journeyas the soundtrack to a Herzog-style sci-fi epic about the history of human consciousness, or even a battle over it, via album 70’s prog touched by one 90’s Death Metal band but with an eye on the future”.

The album’s title, “Absolute Elsewhere”, pays tribute to a Progressive Rock collective from the mid-70s that had the KING CRIMSON drummer, Bill Bruford. More specifically, the album is inspired by his 1976 album “In Search of Ancient Gods”, conceived as a musical accompaniment to the works of Erich Von Daniken and his theories on the influence of non-terrestrial humanoids on the evolution of humanity.

Recording of “Absolute Elsewhere” and collaborations

“Absolute Elsewhere” was recorded at Hansa Tonstudios in Berlin, Germany, in July 2023, with producer Arthur Rizk (known for his work with KREATOR or POWER TRIP among many others.

The album features the collaboration of Thorsten Quaeschning from TANGERINE DREAMwho provides lead synths, Mellotron and programming on “The Stargate [Tablet II]”. Other special guests include Nicklas Malmqvist from HÄLLAS on synthesizers, keyboards, piano and mellotron on all tracks, and Malte Gericke (SIJJIN, ex NECROS CHRISTOS) contributing guest vocals in her native language.

Art and aesthetics of “Absolute Elsewhere”

To underline the classic Prog Rock vibe, the band has chosen to illustrate it with contemporary paintings by the iconic 70s sci-fi artist. Steve R. Dodd.
