The Justice Department of Río Grande will investigate the resemblance between the daughter of Navy Captain Carlos Pérez, one of those arrested for the disappearance of Loan Danilo Peña, and Sofía Herrera, the girl who went missing in September 2008, while the mother of the minor, María Elena Delgado, said that she already knows unofficially that she is not her first-born.
This week an image of a television news item that attracted attention went viral where the daughter of Pérez, the accused who was transferred to the Güemes prison, in the province of Salta, was interviewed about the arrest of the cash.
Later, several users stated that the teenager had “very similar” features to Sofía Herrera and various speculations began.
The senior prosecutor of the Northern Judicial District, Martín Bramati, confirmed to Tierra del Fuego media that the case will be carried out to expand that line of investigation.
“Apparently the girl would be 14 years old and in principle would not coincide with Sofia’s age. But the idea is that we are faced with a case where several issues are being analyzed, such as the issue of human trafficking and cross-border trafficking. It cannot be ruled out either that the age is modified or that the record is altered,” he argued.
Sofía Herrera, the girl who disappeared without a trace from a campsite in northern Tierra del Fuego in 2008. In this sense, data will be requested from the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER) to obtain the birth certificate of Pérez’s daughter and from Migrations to find out if the minor was in Tierra del Fuego with her parents. Bramanti anticipated that responses to these reports will take a long time.
“Information was requested from the Navy regarding the status of one of the detained persons, who would be the father of this girl (Carlos Pérez), and to see if he was actually in Ushuaia, if he retired in Ushuaia as was reported and during which period he was in the city of Ushuaia or in the province included,” said the prosecutor.

They sent me photos of the girl when she was 1 year old and that she was the biological daughter of that woman (Amanda Zacariaz),” Delgado said in conversation with NA and considered that she is used to seeing photos of girls who look like her daughter. “I’m constantly seeing images of little girls who could be Sofia,” insisted the mother of the minor.
