He Albanesi Group announced the authorization by CAMMESA of the eighth gas turbine for the Modesto Maranzana Thermal Power Plant, located in Río Cuarto, Córdoba. This initiative, product of a investment of 190 million dollars 100% private, it is part of the conversion project from open cycle to combined cycle of the largest thermal generation plant that Albanesi owns in the country, within the framework of its expansion and modernization plan.
The second stage of this work, whose inauguration is scheduled for the last quarter of the year, consists of the commissioning of the new steam turbine, which will add 125 megawatts (MW) to its installed capacityWith it, Maranzana will achieve a total capacity of 475 MWconsolidating itself as a fundamental pillar in the electricity supply of the province, where it currently provides 25% of the energy consumed in Córdoba.
The project
The development of this project is part of an investment plan that together exceeds 500 million dollarsOne of them has been operational since April. This is the completion of the expansion and closure of the combined cycle of the Ezeiza Thermal Power Plantwith which it managed to double its installed power, increasing from 150 MW to 300 MW, which represented an investment of more than 220 million dollars.
The other corresponds to the construction of the Arroyo Seco Cogeneration Plantin Santa Fe. The work requires a investment of more than US$ 150 million and will have 130 MW of installed capacity which will be injected into the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI) and 180 tn/h of process steam for the industry. The steam resulting from the operation will be delivered to the Louis Dreyfus Company industrial complex for its production process. The first stage is expected to be operational during the third quarter of 2024, and the second in the first quarter of 2025.
