Nearly 35 Argentine soldiers were injured after being “baptized” with quicklime inside the Army of Trans-Andean country.

The military were forced to kneel while their superiors threw the dangerous chemical compound at them as part of “an initiation ritual”, after having completed a skydiving course.

The incident occurred inside the Parachute Infantry Regiment No. 14located in the city of Córdoba.

As recorded in a video recorded, presumably, by one of the instructors present, the young soldiers began to present discomfort due to quicklimeremaining seven of them hospitalized.

Argentine media reported that those affected experienced external and internal burns to the skin, mucous membranes, respiratory tract and other injuries.

As a result of this event, three members of the Army were charged with “abuse of authority” and “minor injuries”in accordance with the provisions of the federal prosecutor Carlos Casas.

It is important to note that quicklime is a toxic chemical, composed mainly of Calcium oxide, which is used as disinfectant for septic tanks and organic waste, eliminating bad odors.
