The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, and James Smith, assistant director of the FBI in New York, told NBC New York that the seized material included images of children, babies, and a particularly disturbing video which showed the rape of a 10-year-old child.
“Our investigation into Smith is ongoing, and we urge anyone with information about his conduct to call the FBI,” the prosecutor said in a statement to the press.
According to news reports, the investigation began after the seizure of the phone of an unidentified accomplice, through which an undercover FBI agent contacted Austin Wolf.
