Colombian actress Yesenia Valenciawho until recently was part of the cast of the soap opera ‘Rigo’which tells the story of the renowned cyclist Rigoberto Urán, revealed little-known details about his private life.

The 44-year-old paisa confessed during an interview that more than 20 years ago she married her first husband, not for love, but for convenience in order to have economic stability.

During his interview with ‘Laura Acuña’s Room’the actress who played the mother-in-law of ‘Rigo’, She revealed that everything happened more than 20 years ago, when she was 17 years old and arrived in Bogotá to be able to do a casting, for which in the end she had to stay in the capital to live without the company of her family.

Some time later, she met a man older than her, approximately 40 years old, who proposed that they get married, even though neither of them felt romantic interest in the other.

“That was a very arranged marriage. He told me: ‘I suit you.’ I told him: ‘I don’t want you’, but he said yes. In conclusion, I married for money”revealed the actress during her conversation with journalist Laura Acuña.

To her story, the paisa added that when her mother found out about the marriage proposal, she flatly refused and confronted the man: “You are crazy, look at how old you are and look at how old she is, what’s wrong with you. In ten years she will no longer want to know anything about you.”

Laughing, the artist explained that not even ten years had passed when she realized that she had made a big mistake by marrying a man she did not love and who was older than her.

“I had a wonderful marriage, he was a super good man, he was very good to me. The thing is that there was never love, so there was nothing to build there because there was nothing.”he added.

Yesenia added that, in reality, although they got married, she and her husband at the time were never dating, but rather “He told me: ‘I suit you economically and socially. I suit you in every sense of the word, let’s get married.’”

Valencia also pointed out that when she separated from her husband, it was not “easy for him” because he experienced a lot of pain.

In the interview, the actress also talked about her beginnings in the world of entertainment, motherhood, her fear of marriage after divorcing her first husband and her childhood.
