More than 10 years later, Dragon Ball will premiere its unpublished anime in Spain

lWe Spanish Dragon Ball fans have been suffering for a long time because of a thorn in our hearts: Dragon Ball Kai or Dragon Ball Z Kai (in Japan). For those who don’t know it, it is a kind of remastering of the original Dragon Ball Z anime. Broadly speaking, it is a television adaptation of the manga, but much more faithful to the original material and without so much filler. It is divided into two parts: Dragon Ball Kai and Dragon Ball Kai: the final chapters. The latter, as its name indicates, focuses on the final phases of DBZ. More specifically, in the Buu saga.

Unfortunately, it was never broadcast in Spain. It was released 12 years ago, in 2009, but we were never able to enjoy it. Luckily, this situation has changed, and Selecta Vision has taken over the broadcast rights to the series. The best of all is that we can enjoy its first installments in the cinema, since they will broadcast the first 4 episodes on June 20 in different theaters in Spain. After this, yes, we will have to wait.

Dragon Ball Kai arrives for the first time in Spain

After this, although the exact date has not yet been confirmed, a double launch of the complete series is expected. On the one hand, Selecta has revealed that it will release the complete series on DVD and BlueRay. On the other hand, it will come to AnimeBox, an anime platform in streaming. This has been confirmed both on the film’s poster itself and in an official statement on its website.

As they explain, “the platform specialized in Anime AnimeBox has announced that it will soon include Dragon Ball Z Kai to your anime catalog. Thus, after this premiere of the first 4 episodes in theaters, all fans will be able to continue the adventure of Goku and his friends on the platform.” Thus, we can safely affirm that it will end up arriving sooner rather than later.

Regarding the physical version, they have revealed that “this year the publication of Dragon Ball Z Kai on DVD and Blu-ray by SelectaVisionso that all fans can also enjoy the unmatched quality of the physical format.” Therefore, although we do not know the exact date, we do know its release window: 2024.
