Netflix has given away in season 3 of ‘The Bridgertons’ a part of Francesca’s story that we would not have been able to see if it had been faithful to the books

It has not gone unnoticed the great prominence that Francesca has obtained throughout season 3 of ‘The Bridgertons’. And this character, who began as an absolute secondary character, with very few lines in the script and disappearing at times without any explanation and then even changing the actress who played him, from Ruby Stokes to Hannah Dodd, in just eight episodes It has left us great moments. On the one hand, we have the beautiful plot of him with John Stirling (Victor Alli). This has shown us that it is not necessary to live a huge love story for it to be good and true. So much so that their relationship has gone beyond the screen and today Hannad and Victor share a romantic union. And of course, we do not forget that Francesca will be the second Bridgerton sister to have a homosexual relationship in the Netflix series, since they have decided to change Michael Stirling, who will be her next romance, for Michaela Stirling.

It is a fact that Shonda Rhimes and her team are interested in exploring the paths that this character can take. But you should know that this completely understandable fascination with Francesca has materialized throughout season 3 of ‘The Bridgertons’ and even before the plot twists mentioned above happened, because Netflix has given us a part of their story that we could not have seen if they had been faithful to their book.

The story of Francesca that Netflix has given us in season 3 of ‘The Bridgertons’ and that we would not have been able to see if it had been faithful to the book

As you may well know, Francesca’s story is told in the sixth book of the ‘Bridgerton’ saga by Julia Quinn. This one is titled ‘The Heart of a Bridgerton’ and develops (without going into many details) a love story that the young woman has once her first husband dies. That is, John Stirling dies and her closeness to his cousin, Michael Stirling, makes things passionate between them. Well, among them, if we count that Netflix has changed the gender of this character.

Titania ‘The Heart of a Bridgerton’ (6)

However, At no point in the novel is it mentioned how Francesca meets John or how they get married. in a ceremony as intimate and spatial as the one we see. One of the decisions that Netflix has made when adapting the books to the screen is add the way in which love is forged between these two adorable characters, from courtship and the first conversations to marriage and the new home that both will occupy together (Eloise and Michaela included). A fairly intelligent decision on the part of the platform because this way, once Francesca’s season happens, which will be her fifth or sixth, we will have complete information on her story. We really want to see it with Michaela and get hooked on the 19th century sapphic plot that they are going to give us.
