El capítulo 2 de La Casa del Dragón concluyó con el combate de los gemelos Cargyll, que representa muy bien lo que ocurrirá cuando estalle la Danza de Dragones: una guerra civil que enfrentará a primos, padres, hijos y hermanos en una contienda fratricida.
Así, Arryk y Erryk, miembros de la Guardia Real separados al final de la primera temporada, se volvieron a ver las caras en un encuentro violento… y fatal.
Ser Arryk Cargyll es leal a los Verdes y miembro de la Guardia Real de Aegon II. Su lord comandante, Ser Criston Cole, le ordena viajar hasta Rocadragón para hacerse pasar por su hermano gemelo, e infiltrarse en los aposentos de la fortaleza para asesinar a la reina.
Ser Erryk Cargyll, por su parte, permanece al lado de Rhaenyra Targaryen y es leal a los Negros.
Arryk consigue llegar hasta el dormitorio de Rhaenyra, pero, finalmente, el magnicidio no llega a consumarse, ya que en el último momento su hermano irrumpe en la estancia.
Los gemelos, interpretados por Luke y Elliot Tittensor, se enzarzan en un feroz combate en el que es difícil incluso diferenciar quién es quien.
El tenso duelo entre los dos formidables caballeros (no en vano se trata de dos Capas Blancas) culmina con la muerte de ambos, a pesar de que uno logra imponerse al otro.
La culpa de haber puesto fin a la vida de su gemelo es un dolor demasiado grande y el hermano superviviente, tras pedir perdón a la reina, se precipita sobre su espada, suicidándose.

But, after this shocking ending, there are many viewers of The House of the Dragon who have asked themselves the same question: which twin kills the other in combat and then takes his own life?
A question that Ryan Condal, the showrunner of the series, has resolved.
“El que queda al final es Erryk. Él es el último superviviente, el que cae sobre su espada. Entonces, ya sabes, Arryk está muerto. El infiltrado está muerto”, señaló en declaraciones recogidas por The Decider.
There he also reveals that “When he says ‘Your Majesty’ to the queen, that’s when she realizes which of the two he is.”.
Along those lines, Condal highlighted that these are “two men who have sworn to protect the royal family” and who now “have turned against each other”, so they don’t really know what to do with their promise.
“It’s this tragic story of two brothers who find themselves on different sides of a conflict, in a way, a great archetype that goes back to the American Civil War, Western movies and Arthurian tales,” he stressed.
“We wanted a very emotional conflict between these two brothers who love each other deeply.“but they have become mortal enemies due to the nature of the political system to which they have committed themselves,” he said.
